What are the fixed subjects in IAS exam?

Main Exam include 9 descriptive type papers: 1-Any language defined in constitution of India 2-english 3-essay 4-general study 5-general study 6-optional subject-1 7-optional subject-1 8-optional subject-2 9-optional subject-2 In this papers first two is optional paper means its marks are not considered but one have to get minimum marks in that paper also otherwise one will be failed in the main exam. The other seven papers are compulsory and its marks are considered in the final merit list. After the selected candidate will go for an interview. The final merit list will be made based on the marks secured in main exam plus interview together. The list of optional subject for the Language means literature is below: Gujarati Manipur Sanskrit Hindi Sindhi Bengali Kannada Oriya Tamil Kashmir Telugu Konkani Urdu Marathi Punjabi Malayalam The list of other optional subject for the main exam is below : Agriculture Management Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science Mathematics Anthropology Mechanical Engineering Botany Medical Science Chemistry Philosophy Civil Engineering Physics Commerce & Accountancy Political Science & International Relations Economics Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration Geography Sociology Geology Statistics Indian History Law Zoology So, there are lots of optional subject so select any two from the above list and start the preparation for the exam.
