What are the future prospects after doing BCA through lateral entry?

Hi Pihu, First of all, to get jobs after BCA it’s very difficult in now a days. Because most of the jobs are available for Master degree candidates. But I am not saying that after BCA you will not get jobs, After BCA if you will find jobs then you will not get salary more than 10 to 15 k per month. And you have done your BCA from lateral entry, So it isn't like the preference will be given firstly to the Regular course candidates and then to you. If you are interested in Jobs then you can apply for Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Dell, TCS etc. But I will suggest you, if you are really make your future bright in Computer field, then please do MCA Course after BCA, MCA course from regular mode. I am definitely sure that you will get good jobs in top IT companies. Because most of the IT companies recruits MCA candidates. Also, as you asked you can pursue courses in parallel and there are a lot of options as i am listing below the most prominent ones from the job point of view: 1. Java/J2EE - The server side software development of web is mostly done by this most secure language option. Most of the banks in India and abroad implement their web applications using Java/J2EE only. 2. Oracle/Mysql/DB2/DBA - This is one of the most reliable course options but you will not get any work of software development on its basis, yet you can continue doing it if you have interest in DBMS. 3. CCNA/MCSE - These networking certifications can employ you as a network engineer and again even in the recession period these were the most reliable career options, if not most exciting. 4. .NET/PHP - These are popular languages which are direct counterparts of Java. These are mainly used for light weight application development on the server side and client side. .NET is also easy to master compared to the long Java Library. Feel free to raise more questions. Pihu, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like I mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with other MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. For example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are registered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even VFX/ Animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain.
