What are the future prospects of a PG course after completing BA in English literature?

BA English is a fairly flexible course and offers diverse career options such as- 1. Management careers - Marketing, Human Resources etc. 2. Hospitality, Event Management, Public Relations, Corporate Communications 3. Media careers like Advertising, Journalism and Film Making 4. Academic careers like Teaching and Research and particularly Training. English Language Training is a big and growing sector in India with jobs freelance and full-time options as an English language trainer or a voice and accent trainer. 5. You could also do an M.A. Or a B.Ed or take up some of the Professional courses. 6. Studying a foreign language full time can be an excellent career option. There are several higher study options for meritorious graduates in English language and literature, such as MA in English, journalism and mass communication; management; tourism administration; law; international relations; linguistics; communication management; film editing and direction; visual communication and library and information science. You can choose any of the courses that suit your aptitude and interest. However, those who want to start with a job can also choose from a lot of opportunities available for the graduates. Candidates can apply for various posts published by UPSC, join Defence services as well as they can apply for IAS examination.

You can do MA in English or you can do Mass Communication in Translation, Journalism Master’s degree is an advantage.

There is a great scope of PG. As you can go in for teaching, and if you go for Ph.D or JRF, then you can go for lectureship. You can apply in media or start writing blogs or articles.
