    Hello!
Looking forward with History courses. These courses always comes up with a subject specialisation and each subject offers different prospective and career outcome. Not just pursuing the course will help, but choosing right academic partner also matters. Many government careers are open to History majors, including positions as Foreign Service officers in the State Department, intelligence analysts in the federal government, FBI agents, defense and prosecuting attorneys, judges, and Congressional aides. Choosing right academic partner is always a challenge. There are many universities that offer this course, but from my own perso

There are some departments like archeology, survey, monument protection, Indian heritage, etc. Where a degree in history could be useful. But if you think yourself as a graduate, then there are opportunities available in government especially on a clerical cadre in different departments. There are plenty of government job opportunities for a history graduate. A graduate in history can pursue MA in History and appear for UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) and apply for Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in a government university.
A history graduate can also purse MA in Archaeology and join Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) as an archaeologist.
The colleges for MA in Archaeology are –
Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India offers Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology
Maharaja Sayajirao university Of Baroda, Gujrat
    Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
Deccan College of Post Graduate a

    Dear,
Government job opportunities are huge when it comes to history as a subject. In India, if you are pursuing history at graduation level then you may opt for Dept. of Archeology (or ASI), or as a teacher in a government school based upon your ability and calibre. But if you are doing history at the postgraduate level then opportunity are vast. Here, not just you can work for the Department of Archeology, but you can work in any govt. university as a faculty of history. Apart from that, you can work as a research assistant in any govt. organization. Here, there are various universities which offer this course at UG-PG level like Univ
