What are the government job opportunities after completing B.Ed? How does one apply for the same?

B.Ed can fetch a person job in a school. Be it govt. or private. Private schools may employ an untrained person on some pretext or other but Govt Schools will employ a person only and only if having minimum qualifications prescribed for that post.
These days unfortunately, Govt schools are not preferred by parents and hence future is in doldrums. Of course Govt is making all efforts to reverse this trend. Almost all state govt's and Municipal Corporations have schools. Hence they need to employ trained teachers. Meaning persons with B.Ed. can be employed.

There are entrance exams like CTET and others which are required to qualify for jobs at certain central schools. If one pursues B.Ed after Masters degree, the prospects are slightly better as you can beat the competition. Kindly check out on notifications regarding these central teachers examinations and their dates. These exams test you on aptitude and general awareness.

Career in Government Schools after B.Ed:
In order to start a career in Government schools it is necessary to write the state level or national level tests. The test organized for state level is named as STET or State Teacher Eligibility Test. The one for national level is named as NET or National Eligibility Test. After clearing the test one can join in any Government School as a teacher.

TET or TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST, it is the test organised by the government of India to recruit different candidates for teaching post in different government schools. B.Ed is a must to appear in the TET or STET. You can appear for TET entrance exam which leads you to government teaching jobs till your 7 years after getting B.Ed degree.

After the completion of B.Ed course, you can apply for CTET exam which is conducted for assistant teacher post in central school.
Minimum educational qualifications for becoming teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage) of CTET exam is Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) or Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.
