What are the government job opportunities after completing B.Sc (IT)?

After completing B.Sc.IT, one can seek jobs through your college by campus recruitment or by seeking for a job by yourself. As graduate in the field of IT which happens to be of a great spectrum, one can get a job in various IT organizations as a System Analyst, Database Administrator, Web Programmer or even in a BPO I.e. call center. IT Industry itself is the prime recruiter. Apart from it, the Telecom Industry is also a well-known recruiter. The startup scenario is also heating up with lots of new startup companies being formed each day. IT professionals are required by these startups to function smoothly. PSU's like GAIL, BHEL, CONCOR, NTPC, SAIL, ONGC, BSNL also requires skilled IT professionals for the software support and maintenance. Student with good programming skills can easily make into government jobs. The salaries depend on the marks during graduation as well as the aptitude of the person but the salary will be between 1,00,000 to 3,80,000 which happens to be pretty good as a starting salary for a non-experienced IT graduate. These days, when it comes to any IT course (be it B.Sc. or BE / B Tech), students are a bit skeptic about its scope and the career prospects associated with it. Especially keeping in mind the things that occurred within the IT Industry after the recession, they are right to a certain extent. But the fact is that IT is still a field that boasts a healthy growth rate. IT graduates will have no trouble in landing decent jobs as long as they pursue IT courses from reputed Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities. B.Sc IT gets job roles like Software Developer, Computer Systems Analysts, Network Administrators, Computer Programmers, Hardware Developer, Database Administrator, Tester, System Analyst, Computer Support Specialist, Hardware and Network Expert and Programmer. Annual salary is from 2-10 LPA based on the employer.

B.Sc in information technology is a good course that would land you in good jobs in the public sector. For many of the Government Jobs, the selection procedure will have: 1) Written Exam 2) Interview You can get some jobs like software developer, web developer, network manager, etc. in the government offices for which you may need to apply accordingly. In addition to that, you can go for jobs in various civil services like IAS, IPS, etc. for which you need to crack the exams conducted by UPSC every year. For jobs in the defense sector, you need to clear the exams by CDS. You can also join the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy by cracking this exam. You can apply for various jobs in the railway sector by appearing for the exams of RRB. If you are interested to get a job in banking sector, then you can prepare for Bank PO Exams and IBPS Exam which may land you in the public sector banks. The government jobs will ensure a good salary with the attractive incentives.
