There have been many advancements in ECE field but the job opportunities in the core field are limited. Nowadays most of the ECE engineers are being recruited for IT roles rather than core jobs. If you want to get a job in the core field you have to be extra-ordinary in both academics and extra-curriculars, then only you can stand out from the crowd. For getting into best companies first try to get into well reputed institutes like IITs, NITs, BITS and other CFTIs. Have a decent CGPA of at least 8.5+. For core jobs I would suggest to have 9+ to be on a safer side. You can increase your employ-ability by doing Post Graduation in one of the branches of ECE. You can appear for GATE if you want to do your PG in India or GRE if you want to study abroad. You should have proper understanding of fundamentals of all subjects and try to specialize in one of them. Electronics and Communication engineering have tremendous scope with the growing technology it is very much growing field in the engineering. -Growing convergence between Hardware and software this is where they have edge over computer engineer -Growing product engineering company in India .So you will be having practice in resting and development -as the shift in manufacturing COMPANIES there is huge need of ECE to test and develop product -Growing communication needs in the world will attract more engineer -Growth of GPS -IOT -Defense sector need for communication -Embedded system -Semiconductor fabrication -VLSI micro electronic -Networking engineering -METLABS -Govt sector These are the major scope of ECE I. In starting of career you can have more experience in the field. So you can have starting career of about 20000 per month which can go up by 100000 per month ad per experience and can go beyond the expectations but you need to be tech savvy for it and love for machine will be in you. You can have more experience.

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION CONSTITUTES the major portion of the daily life gadgets such as mobile phones, wireless networking line, and computers and so on. So, the question of job prospects, it is simply countless. The main thing is skills. No company wants you to join them without any remarkable skills or benchmark achievement. Although all are not born scientist and some may gain knowledge after a very long time but everything can be achieved with hard work. The big technical and IT giants, banks networking companies and all the domestic world is joint or directly or indirectly connected with ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION. It is impossible to live in this era without communication and electronics to live without them. Therefore, a lot of chances are there to get hired by big companies and get a good pay but on the fact that one should be good in talking and management skills and also should contain ample knowledge of his or her field. Also, one most important quality to present his or her ideas are in front of all effectively.

I think this is the best branches among all of engineering branches and my favourite. it has a good area for job in india as well as in foreign,because in this branch you can have the knowledge about two things, first of electronics equipments and communication parts too.Now you have a question that what is difference between them my answer will be assume that you have a laptop or mobile it has many components such as display,camera,speaker and software also so in its hardware part there is an IC(integrated circuit) and it is generally designed by electrical or electronics engineers and then there is the second one is connection of your equipment to the web.at this point communication takes part.and the special thing is it has a lot of chances in higher studies for bright fultere.
