Mechatronics is a specialization in Mechanical Engineering which is used to create and maintain robotic structures using the principles from Mechanical Engineering. Few colleges offer this course as a degree course in B.Tech and few as a post graduate course in M.Tech. I would suggest doing B.tech in ME and then specializing in Mechatronics as Mechanical provides you ample of opportunities if you ever change you mind for Mechatronics. The job opportunities in this sector are few but it is fine as the number of Mechatronics engineers is also less as compared to other branches.
