What are the job prospects in India as well as overseas for Production Engineering?

Today while traveling you came across many cars and buses. Have you ever thought of who are the creators of those lofty machines? Yes, the automobile engineers are the creators of these wonderful machines You can be one of them if you have love and seal for machines. Automobile engineering is the branch of engineering which deals with the design, manufacturing and operation of automobiles. It incorporates the combination of mechanical, electrical, computer and safety engineering together in the production of cars, buses, trucks, etc. For eligibility, the students must be: 10+2 with phy., chem. & maths with a minimum of 55% marks. The following are the area of specialisation as follows:- -Engine systems -Electronic and control system -Fuel technology and emissions -Fluid mechanics -Rapid prototyping -Thermodynamics -Vehicles pedestrian safety Management So as to master these areas, one has to gain experience. The automobile sector is the most growing sector in India on the contrary India is the 7th largest producer of automobile with an annual production of about 175 million vehicles yearly. It contribution to GDP is 7%. It is expected to grow at a rate of 14.89% by the year 2020. So you can imagine how bigger the sector is with large growth. Employment opportunity is like in the field of: -R&D -Testing and development -Maintenance and safety of vehicle -Design and blueprint of vehicle Job Roles are as follows:- -Automobile technician -Bike mechanics -Diesel mechaniccs -Automobile designer -Executive and managerial position

Production engineering is a unique branch which includes engineering and management both. It is required in many sectors as such. The main job opportunities are asfollowing - 1) Almost all automobile Companies: One of the best place to work for PE 2) Some PSU companies even hire specially for PE, like Vishakhapatnam Steel. But seats are very less. 3) Some PSU Companies hire as a mechanical engineer either through GATE or their own written exam like SAIL, GAIL, BHEL, NTPC etc. The roles offered in production are generally as following - 1.) Quality 2.) Purchase & procurement 3.) Production / shop floor engineer 4.) Maintenance engineer 5.) Logistics & stores 6.) Design & product development etc 7.) ERP stream (SAP, Oracle, other ERP software's) etc. There are more roles offered than this. This is just the general list. Try to get into IITs, NITs or other CFTIs for B.tech and then appear for GATE for post-graduation or for jobs in PSUs. For studying abroad appear for GRE and TOEFL. Consider all available options before making a decision.

Production engineering is not a very new branch and is taught in various IITs and few nonprofit technical institutes though it may seem to be very new to some young minds. Production engineering basically constitutes the whole from the raw products, their manufacturing and then its sales. In it, it can constitute various parameters such as sales increment, cost cutting measure, quality manufacturing and safe reach upto consumer. After the Make in India initiative of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, a gradual increase of setups and manufacturing industries have setup their roots in India. With that, a large number of job opportunities has been rise. Their production engineering is needed with a good skills in management and leadership qualities. One should know, how to produce quality product without spending much amount of money. In India, a production engineer gets a starting salary of 40k to 50k depending upon the skills where in abroad this ideal value may reach beyond the imagination.
