What are the latest updates in UGC NET exam by NTA & UGC?

<div><div><p>NTA and UGC updated the guidelines for the UGC NET exam from the June cycle exam. The candidates appearing in the exam can check the latest updates by the Agency and Commission below:</p></div></div><div><div><ul><li>The UGC NET 2024 exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode (OMR) for both papers. The CBT mode will be discontinued from the<strong>&nbsp;NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024</strong></li><li>The normalisation of the<strong>&nbsp;UGC NET marks</strong>&nbsp;will be discontinued from the NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024</li><li>The UG candidates with four-year UG courses can apply for the&nbsp;<strong>UGC NET JRF exam</strong>&nbsp;and the candidates who will secure 75% marks can enroll themselves in PhD</li><li>The UGC NET marks can be used for admission in PhD and no more separate entrance exams will be conducted by the universities for admission in PhD. The UGC NET marks will be categorised into three sections:<ul><li>Category 1:&nbsp; Candidates qualified with JRF will be eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship, Appointment as Assistant Professors, and Enrollment as PhD scholar.&nbsp;</li><li>Category 2: Candidates qualified fo<strong>r UGC NET</strong>&nbsp;will be eligible for Assistant Professorship and admission as PhD scholar&nbsp;</li><li>Category 3: Based on the marks obtained by the candidates, the candidates will be allowed in the universities as a&nbsp; PhD scholar</li></ul></li></ul><p><em><strong>Note:</strong>&nbsp;The candidates from<strong>&nbsp;Category 2 &amp; 3</strong>&nbsp;will have to go through an interview by the Universities to enroll as a PhD scholar.&nbsp;<strong>70 per cent</strong>&nbsp;weightage will be given to the<strong>&nbsp;NET score</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>30 per cent</strong>&nbsp;marks will be based on the interview.&nbsp;</em></p></div></div>
