  • The nationality requirements for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are as follows:

    Indian Citizen: The candidate must be a citizen of India. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for All India Services.

    Other Nationalities: Foreign nationals, including citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, are also eligible to apply for the IAS exam. However, they must possess an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Government of India.
