Hi Sahaj,
No, IIIT Hyderabad is not like any other government institute. Its a semi private university and one of premier institutes in India. There is no reservation in any part of system.

IIIT Hyderabad B.Tech 2019 admission will be offered based on the following modes- JEE Main 2019, Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Examination (UGEE - (CLD/NK), Olympiad. The cut offs are high. So you need to work very hard to get through.
