Students need to score at least 30% marks in all subjects in order to pass the exams. The students who secure less than 30 marks in English subject are also not considered failures. The board also offers a maximum of 8 grace marks to the students who fail to secure minimum passing marks in a subject. The board provides grace marks to pass the students.

If a student is unable to score 4 marks each in two subjects will be given those 8 grace marks. Such students will also pass the exam. If a student could not perform well in the exam can opt for the option to appear for the compartment exam.
