What are the prospects of PhD in Management? From where should I pursue it: India or abroad?

The PhD Programme in Management aims at training students in the skills and competences related to the systematic investigation of various issues and problems in the area of their study. Ph.D. in management is the highest academic degree awarded in the study of management Science. You can be Professor after your Ph.D. or some big business house will hire you for research work. It is a bad idea to even think of doing Ph.D. from India if you have a good educational background and have some achievements. The best place to do Ph.D. is from USA because of following reasons * Teaching assistantships * Graduate assistantships * Research assistantships (The assistantships include a stipend and a tuition scholarship) Majority of Ph.D. students get any of these which cover their Tuition fee along with that they get good amount of money to survive.

PhD in management is the highest academic degree awarded in the study of management science. The degree is designed for those who are seeking academic research and teaching careers as faculty or professors in the study of management at business schools worldwide. Below are the major fields in which PhD can be practiced: Accounting Decision sciences (decision theory and decision analysis) Economics Entrepreneurship Ethics and legal studies Finance Health care management Leadership Marketing Organizational behavior Operations management / Operations research Management information systems / Information technology management Statistics Strategy Now, answer to where should a candidate go for studies depends on his/her future settlement plan. It might be difficult for a person to settle abroad with home PhD degree. Indian universities are yet to make a good place when it comes to research.

The prospects for Ph.D in management are good mostly in the private sector. Management institutes have risen like anything in India and there is now a dearth of good professors in this field. One can take advantage of this situation and get himself/herself well placed. But it needs focused studies and single-minded attitude towards your goals. Institutes like People in Bhopal, Deptt of Management studies IITs, Delhi University are reputed for their Ph.Ds as well.

PhD in management is the highest academic degree awarded in the study of management science. You can be Professor after your PhD or some big business house will hire you for research work. It is a bad idea to even think of doing PhD from India if you have a good educational background and have some achievements. The best place to do PhD is from USA because of following reasons * Teaching assistantships * Graduate assistantships * Research assistantships (The assistantships include a stipend and a tuition scholarship) Majority of PhD students get any of these which cover their Tuition fee along with that they get good amount of money to survive. In 2017 up $ 2300 were given in assistantships to students. In India you would be spending another 3 to 4 lakhs on your study while you are doing PhD and that is not a good idea.
