There are two rounds of interviews with GD and PI at PowerGrid. Interview Technical Questions : 1- What is a power system? 2- Why transformers are rated in KVA? 3- What is the ground clearance of the 400KV transmission line? 4- What should be the tan Delta value of electrical equipment (for example T/F)? 5- Why ACSRinvar conductors are widely used in metro principal cities. 6- The Basis setting of REF protection for a transformer should be how much. 7- The SF6 gas used for the circuit breaker chamber should be how much bar. 8- Why star zero phase shift transformer winding is used? 9- What is the main difference between AIS and GIS Substation? 10- How many modes of power generation are there? 11- Which mode contributes to maximum power generation in India? What percentage? 12- There are so many water bodies in India, so why we do not prefer Hydroelectric power generation? 13- Why nuclear power generation is not utilized much in India? 14- Why vibration dampers are used with Conductors. 15- What is the main function of LA in the Substation? 16- Do you know of any Nuclear power plants in India? 17- What is the difference between SF6 and an Air circuit breaker? 18- What is the technical term used for the Kaplan turbine? Interview General Questions: 1- Tell me about yourself. 2- Tell me about your college projects. 3- Tell me about your city. 4- Tell me about your family. 5- What is your rank in GATE. After the Personal Interview GD (Group Discussion) was held. Interview questions may differ. It depends on your branch or post.
