An aspirant to enter into the National Defense Academy for Political Science has to write the NDA examination that is conducted by the UPSC in order to qualify for the exams. Apply only by a candidate who is a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before January 1, 1962. Candidates should be unmarried males having passed at least 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board or university. In order to qualify for the NDA exam and get admission in National Defence Academy for Political Science, interested and eligible candidates must write the NDA examination conducted by the UPSC. In terms of the eligibility criteria that apply is that the person must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a person of Tibetan origin who has been residing in India prior to the 1st of January, 1962 under a permanent resettlement status in India.
