I am a Medical officer and have served in rural area for more than 2 years. Now I want to apply for the same rural area service certificate, but my District Magistrate is asking under what rules I will furnish this certificate.

If you're applying for PGI Chandigarh (INICET), and want rural area quota benefits, you need an official Rural Service Certificate. It must match the format in Annexure-IV of the INICET prospectus and should be signed by the DM (District Magistrate). You need to have served 2+ years in a government-recognized rural area.
