Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Petroleum engineering is niche degree with major opportunities in Public Sector Units and large Oil & Gas corporate. Experienced Indian Petroleum engineers have a good job market in Oil & Gas exploration and production companies abroad. Petroleum engineers are also hired by engineering design firms. Currently because of international oil price crash Petroleum industry is in bit of crisis worldwide. However I feel it's a temporary phenomenon.
