    Cinematography can be learned as part of a degree program or taken through independent study. Courses in cinematography are available at film schools, 4-year Universities and community colleges, as well as through distance learning. Students of Cinematography at both the Bachelor's and Master's degree levels must take a wide variety of Filmmaking courses. In addition to Lighting and Cinematography courses, Film History, Film Editing and other related subjects are often offered as electives.
