The hostel at IILM has a curfew timing of up to 10 PM for PG students and 9PM for UG Students. However in case the students need to stay outside the hostel premises post these hours they are allowed to do so with the approval of the concerned authorities and mentors that are assigned to them.

The timings of the hostel are common for both boys & girls. The last time to reach back the hostel in the night is upto 10:00 PM. However, Students can move in-out of the campus throughout the day without any restrictions. The university is peculiar regarding the safety and security of students so a biometric fingerprint is required to take entry & exit in the campus.

Subjects in the first year of B.Tech at IILM, like Basic Programming, Digital Logic, and Mathematics, are taught slowly and from a beginner's level. No one assumes you already know coding; in fact, most of the students do not. The faculty repeats concepts as much as needed, and lab sessions move at a pace where everyone can follow. By the end of the first year, most students are comfortably writing basic to intermediate programs.

The hostel has a fixed curfew. Entry and exit are monitored, and you need permission for late returns or outings. Initially, it may feel a little strict, but you get used to it. Inside the hostel, the environment is lively: people studying in groups, some playing carrom or table tennis, and others just relaxing after classes. Weekends usually feel more free, so you can step out with permission or hang around the campus lawns. Overall, it's safe and structured, but not suffocating.
