In order to be eligible for pursuing higher studies at the University of Iowa, international first-year students must fulfill certain entry requirements. These requirements include:
- A 3.0 GPA on academic courses;
- Three years of completed secondary (high school) coursework;
- Completion of secondary school (generally representing 12-13 years of education);
- Academic records (transcripts) that reflect a graduation date or a separate secondary school diploma/certificate;
- English proficiency exam scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/Duolingo); and
- Minimum high school requirements:
