Mass communication is the process of transmitting any information to a large number of scattered audiences. It could be through television, radio, magazine or newspaper. Now just imagine what all is required to make a piece of information available to masses? Who will write the script, or who will write the newspaper article? Writers Who will check the errors and will make the final draft? Editors Who will shoot and edit? Videographers & Film Makers Who will handle big brands and celebrities Public Relations? Who will make advertisements and jingles Ad Specialists? Who will make sure that the product is reaching the masses: Marketing Specialists? Opportunities in the field of Mass Communication are immense, although the level of competition is also very high. Students get well placed in the field and get attractive pay packages. The pay might not be very high in the beginning, but it will give you a very high return. Skills to be successful in the field 1- Out of the box thinking: You should be creative enough. 2- Open to work at odd hours: Not always, but there could be a time when you there are no timings. 3- Ability to interact: You have to deal with so many people, hence it is utmost important to be very comfortable with interacting.
