What are the various career options after completing the Linux program

Hi, I completed B.E.(Electronics & Communication) in 2007. I have over 1 yr. experience in the field of Embedded systems(automotive domain). The salaries are low in this field. Is it possible to shift to other software streams, say Linux, C etc.? Also, what is the career scope for Linux admin?
