    The NID DAT 2024 (Prelims) merit list will be categorized based on some factors. This would ensure fair selection for admission to the National Institute of Design. The expected categories are:

    • General: It will include all candidates from the general population who applied without claiming any reservations.
    • General-EWS: This category is specifically for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) within the general population.
    • OBC-NCL: This category is for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer).
    • SC: This category is for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste community.

  • The National Instritute of Design will release category-wise merit list for admission purposes. The merit lists will be released for the following categories.

    The merit list will be prepared by considering DAT Prelims scores. Candidates, who get shortlisted, on the basis of merit, will be eligible to appear in DAT Mains.

    Note that NID will release searate merit lists for overseas candidates.
