What are the word limits for IELTS Writing Task 1 and IELTS Writing Task 2?

For IELTS Writing Task 1, at least 150 words of written work is required. For IELTS Writing Task 2, at least 250 words of essay are required. Anything lower than the minimum requirement will attract a penalty.
