What basic steps should I follow to become an IAS officer?

Hi Ankit Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is a civil services exam conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). It is one of the toughest competitive exams in India. To be eligible to apply for the IAS exam, a candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university and should not be more than 30 years of age. In order to appear for the IAS exam, one has to procure the application form and brochure of UPSC's civil services exam from any of the post offices spread across the country. The preliminary examination consisting objective questions, known as Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) takes place around the month of May or June. Candidates qualifying CSAT are subject to a main written test in the month of October followed by a personal interview. The final result usually comes in June.
