It is very difficult to say which one is better. but if you want to go the public sector in the future than mechanical has more seats than electrical but there is also good competition for that. And mechanical branch has good placement in HBTI over electrical. So the decision is totally yours as it is all about interest.

Electrical engineering is better than mechanical engineering because it has high scope now when compared to mechanical engineering and also has good placement opportunities.

I'll prefer you to opt for the electrical engineering as the scope of this field in India is good and you can easily get a decent pack job easily but this can't be possible in the mechanical branch as there are very less jobs in India for this field. But, if you want you can opt for the mechanical also but the pack of this college in this field is not so good.

Hello Vani, Electrical engineering is the design and study of electronics, power, and electrical systems while mechanical engineering is the design and study of power, energy, weapons systems, aircraft and transportation products, and other equipment.
Electrical engineering is one of the main branches of engineering which is concerned with the use of electricity to transmit energy while mechanical engineering is concerned with the design, manufacture, and maintenance of mechanical devices and tools.
Both can involve the field of mechatronics and robotics, but electrical engineering is also concerned with electronics and telecommunication
