Continuing with your education is an ideal option after completion of your Diploma course rather than going for job opportunities. This is because it increases the job scope and provides opportunity to have lucrative career options. You should go for job opportunities after completion of degree course in the field of engineering. After Diploma course, you can find job opportunities mainly in the public sector since private sector companies prefer degree candidates.

You can do B.Tech through lateral entry. Diploma holders in any stream are eligible to take admission, in the second year of the course. They must have done their Diploma after 10th (3 year) with minimum 50% marks or after class 12th (2 year) and they need to qualify LEET. Various engineering colleges in India also offer direct admission to Diploma holders in second year of the course and in reputed institutes, after completing Diploma student gets entry in second year of B.Tech through LEET. Some private institutes like BITS Pilani, VIT, LPU University etc. Conduct their separate entrance test. Top colleges/ universities are: DTU, BIT

You can take admission in degree, or you can do job. But, after Diploma, job option is not good for future, if you are capable to spend some more money for B.Tech, then go for it.

Dear Gautam, after completing your Diploma in electrical engineering, you became a junior engineer. So, you may apply for any government jobs for any private jobs. But, I suggests you to pursue your studies in Electrical Engineering by doing B.Tech. It is better to do B.Tech, because it will give you the deeper knowledge of your field and also increases the scope of job opportunities. And, after completing B.Tech, you may apply for government jobs, public sectors, private sectors or any other fields, because B.Tech provides you a very big platform compared to Diploma degree.
