Hello Manan,
Commerce and science are the two broad categories. In commerce, you can go for arts/ design, business, finance and banking.
In science, you have engineering and medical. Some new streams are also in demand nowadays like bio- tech, nano technology, agriculture and genetic. Students are also moving in fashion designing and interior designing. The research oriented students can go for KVPY and get into institutes like IISC or IISERs.
There are courses like mechanical/ electrical and computer science in engineering to newer ones like hotel management and fashion designing. You can opt for any of these as per your interest.

Hi Suraj,
I appreciate your proactive approach. Commerce is a fabulous field to choose. Go for it if you feel like going. You're in 8th standard so every door is open. Please start doing analysis of what you like to do and what hobby of yours you can change into a career. I would suggest you to opt what you like and enjoy rather than what sharma uncle's or gupta uncle's sons are planning for. There is success and failure in every field and all you need to do is choose wisely. Hope my answer will be of use for you. Please revert in case we can help you by more.
Regards.

Hi...
Choosing an engineering college requires balancing placement records, salary packages, and fees. Generally, top-tier government institutes (IITs, NITs) offer the best combination of high placements, excellent salaries, and lower fees compared to private universities.
- Placements & Salary: The absolute best. They consistently report near 100% placements in relevant branches (like CSE, Mechanical). Average salaries are very high (often ₹18-25+ LPA), with top international offers exceeding ₹50 LPA
