What course is better in distance mode - PGDBM or MBA?

The duration of both regular MBA and distance MBA remains the same. PGDM is a 2 years long programme depending on the subjects as specialisation or on the university. PGDM can be equal to an MBA degree if the duration is 2 years long. Also, the duration of both regular and distance PGDM remains the same.

MBA is an old version for those wishing to pursue management studies, a two-year Diploma course PGDM, Post Graduate Diploma in Management sounds better. Generally, the PGDM course is far more industry-relevant and practical as far as the job market is concerned. Both are same if you want to study more and beneficial for long than go for MBA and if you want immediate joining than PGDM is good option as companies hier PGDM more quickly as institute more than university MBA only university based and PGDM is institute based. Do anything both have its own importance.

Hi Sanket, I would like to make it clear in various terms that which is better in distance mode: PGDM or MBA. MBA Vs Grade PGDM : Clarity in Terminology PGDM is a postgraduate Diploma course and a short form of Postgraduate Diploma in Management. PGDM is a Diploma course and not a degree and the reason why PGDM can be offered to private institutions instead of colleges affiliated with any university. MBA Vs Grade PGDM Grade: Qualification criteria : An MBA is a master's degree programme and therefore requires a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. There is also one thing to note that all colleges / universities have their own procedures for admitting students to the MBA programme. But there are some common eligibility procedures that most colleges follow. Students must pass their Bachelor's exams with at least 50% marks to be admitted to an MBA degree. Although a typical MBA requires students to assess the CAT and admission is based on CAT points which will be followed by Group discussion and personal discussion. PGDM is a postgraduate Diploma programme and as an MBA it also requires a Bachelor's degree from a recognised or similar university. Most institutions have restrictions or procedures for admitting students to the PGDM programme. The general eligibility process for this programme is that students who graduate or in their final years are eligible for admission to the programme at most colleges. Although the standard PGDM standard is also the same as students are required to pass Bachelor's exams with at least 50% marks but the final selection is based on termination. MBA Vs Grade PGDM: Duration: However, both MBA and PGDM courses require the same amount of time to complete. But sometimes the length of PGDM programs varies according to courses and colleges. The MBA is a 2 year PG programme and most universities offer it in semester mode. The length of the standard MBA and the distance of the MBA are still the same. PGDM is a long 2-year programme based on professional courses or university. PGDM can be equivalent to an MBA degree if the duration is 2 years long. In distance mode PGDM is more useful as it is more designed for a particular subjects ( the college offering PGDM has more authority to design the course curriculum). PGDM is more useful for job oriented knowledge whereas MBA is more useful for academic jobs like teaching. While choosing a distance course it is more important to check UGC and DEB approval than PGDM or MBA. The college must be dully approved and has a well recognised name ( like Symbosis, IGNOU NMIMS, State open university etc. ). Best wishes.
