What degrees should i pursue to get into petroleum field(jobs like Rig Engineer, Drilling Engineer) after Mechanical Engineering
Lots of institutes are offering Diplomas in Drilling and Refining for a period of 3-6 months. I would like to know the relevance and scope of these diplomas and how it can earn me a good job in petroleum fields. I have currently finished my BTech Degree in Mechanical.
Hi Raees, The quality control of industrial construction is usually done in accordance with International Quality Standards such as ASME, API, AWS, ANSI, ASTM, BS etc. standards. The sectors of specialization courses include Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, Piping Inspection, Tank Inspection, Pressure Vessel Inspection and so on. NDT is the use of noninvasive techniques to determine the integrity of a material, component or structure without impairing its usefulness which is an integral part of Quality Control in engineering. It confirms quality of materials such as structural beams, pipes, plates, valves, nozzles etc. used in construction of industrial equipments. It also confirms quality of fabrication and joining process where testing of welds is of major importance. Hence NDT is a major tool for QA/QC Engineers/Supervisors and QA/QC Inspectors. Oil or gas extracted from wells is transported through pipelines. Due to ever rising demand in oil and gas throughout the world different companies are trying to stretch as much as they can to meet the requirements. Hence, the need for technically viable engineers is increasing day by day. Piping courses are designed to provide a broad overview of onshore as well as sub sea pipeline engineering from designing to construction. In Piping Engineering, the main task is to bear the responsibility of various technical and non-technical aspects of piping. A piping engineer manages with everything right from installation of the piping. There is good in demand for good piping engineers in the Middle East. The piping engineer not only operates with the installation of the piping but also is responsible to take care of its repair and maintenance. The piping engineer is also responsible for ensuring the safety at the work sight. He must make sure that all safety measures and procedures are being followed. The choice of a stream depends on your qualification and on where you would like to see yourself in action.Ihe choice of a course depends on the environment in which you would like to see yourself. Certification holders are demanded in the middle east. Click on thumbs up or mark it as best, if you found this info useful. Wish You Luck!
