Normally financial institutes look for Engineers only for their internal IT department (Mostly). For that matter, they normally look for individual's Software / Hardware and Networking skills. Apart from this they also look at the temperament, attitude and personality traits as well.

As you are an engineering students and the recruiter know that than obviously they are going ask about you and your field and i think they are going to appoint you as technical advisor as many financial institutes retain them to know either loan or finance they are going to invest is fair or not and
