Hi, I would say getting selected in an interview totally depends on the your skills as to how you are presenting yourself, utilizing your skills at the right time. Other than that, you might be getting checked for your goal orientation, communication skills, creative answers to problems, technicality, etc. In this changing world, engineers are in great demand. For young engineers who desire to retain the job, move ahead must develop and maintain such skills.
Hope this will solve your query. Feel free to raise more questions otherwise you may close the question by liking it or marking it as the best answer. All the best!
Normally financial institutes look for Engineers only for their internal IT department (Mostly). For that matter, they normally look for individual's Software / Hardware and Networking skills. Apart from this they also look at the temperament, attitude and personality traits as well.
As you are an engineering students and the recruiter know that than obviously they are going ask about you and your field and i think they are going to appoint you as technical advisor as many financial institutes retain them to know either loan or finance they are going to invest is fair or not and for more info you have to check out the website of company.
