Communication design, traditionally known as graphic design, is the creation of visuals that spread messages and meanings in new and relevant ways. To do this, communication designers use new emergent media and technologies to collaborate and be responsive to the needs of businesses, communities and organisations. The degree is also called visual communications design and can usually be found as a Bachelor or Master of Fine Arts. In the bachelor's and master's programs, you learn skills in problem solving, print design, web design, 3-D graphics, corporate identity, and information graphics.

Communication design is a mixed discipline between design and information-development which is concerned with how media expresses itself through mediums, such as printed, crafted, electronic media or presentations.
