  • A lateral entry admission is one where a student directly enters in the second year of his engineering, MCA or MBA, etc. degrees. Each degree has its own admission criterion. For example for B.Tech, lateral entry candidate must have completed a Diploma in their respective branch or B.Sc in PCM to be eligible for the lateral entry programme. Candidates after completing their Diploma, have to appear for LEET (a special examination for enrollment in the engineering colleges offering lateral entry for B.Tech). Few states conduct their own LEET examination. You've go through various rounds in order to get approved for counseling.
