What happened in this is if you are having a Diploma degree and want to go for graduation, then you can go for B.Tech (lateral entry) procedure in which you will get admission in B.Tech and supposed to study from 2nd year of B.Tech rather than starting from first year. Lateral Entry in B.Tech only means that you will be admitted directly in the 2nd year. It is for Diploma holders and B.Sc. Graduates in the same field.
