The percentile is referred to indicate the performance of a candidate compared to other students who have appeared for the same exam. Securing the 99 percentile in the UGC NET exam means that the candidate has secured more than 99% of the candidates who took the exam. If a student has got 99 percentile, it means that only 1% of students got more marks than you. UGC NET has two papers - Paper I and Paper II and the percentile is calculated based on the performance of students in both papers.
