    The percentile is referred to indicate the performance of a candidate compared to other students who have appeared for the same exam. Securing the 99 percentile in the UGC NET exam means that the candidate has secured more than 99% of the candidates who took the exam. If a student has got 99 percentile, it means that only 1% of students got more marks than you. UGC NET has two papers - Paper I and Paper II and the percentile is calculated based on the performance of students in both papers. 

  • In the UGC NET exam, the 99 percentile refers to the top 1 per cent of candidates who have appeared for the exam. In other words, if a candidate has scored in the 99th percentile, it means that they have performed better than 99 per cent of the candidates who appeared for the exam. The percentile score is a measure of how well a candidate has performed relative to other candidates who have taken the exam. It is calculated by comparing the candidate's score with the scores of all the candidates who have appeared for the exam.
