IISER Berhampur BSc admission is entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can opt for any of the three channels for admission subject to the condition that they meet the overall and specific eligibility criteria for those channels. These channels are given below:
- KVPY Channel: The KVPY-SA students who have received the provisional KVPY fellowship award are eligible to apply through this channel. Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.

For admission to its Bachelor of Science program, IISER Berhampur accepts results from a number of national entrance exams. The approved tests and the prerequisites for taking them are as follows:
National Admission Tests:Joint Admission Test (JEE) Primary: The least possible position among the top 10,000 on the Common Rank List (CRL).
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY): SA/SX stream selection.
Scholarship awarded for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).
Placed among the top 0.1% of the board merit standing.
