What extra benefits does an MBA from a USA university provide which IIMs don't?

    Hello,
    By the way of introduction, I am an alumnus of IIM, Indore. So, basically, the answer has follow up questions. What kind of life do you expect post an MBA? What kind of profile you want to get into? Whether or not you want to settle abroad? Do you plan to open your own venture?
    To put my story here, my main intention to choose an MBA here than looking in abroad was:
    1- I wanted to settle over here.
    2- I wanted to explore more into analytics plus management world and India provides best mix for both if you want to do a job in a corporate world.
    3- I do not intend to open my own venture.

    The only extra benefit which an MBA from USA can provide is to provide you opportunities of work in USA itself. That would be there with IIMs also but perhaps a bit lesser as compared to having degree from a USA university itself.

    On an absolute, context less basis, of course. An HBS or Stanford can open doors for you practically anywhere in the world, which is driven by the fact that the US as a country is the largest "global brand" in the world. If you're looking at US facing, global roles or more policy related work (World Bank, IMF), a Harvard or Stanford would give you a much better shot at it.
    If you factor in the differences of the countries, and compare the quality of students they produce and the opportunities they open, I would say IIM A is comparable to HBS and Stanford. You could pick any large global company with a presence in India, and you would h
