Laurentian University recognises academic excellence through three distinct honour classifications based on GPA. Achieving a GPA between 5.5 and 7.4 earns students honours status, exclusive to four-year degrees. Those attaining a GPA between 7.5 and 8.9 ( 79%- 87%) receive Cum Laude Honors, while the highest distinction, Magna Cum Laude, is given to students with a GPA of 9.0 ( 87% and above). The University calculates GPA using a minimum of 45 credits for three-year degrees and 60 credits for four-year degrees.
