The consequences for failing internal exams can vary depending on the institution and the specific programme or course.
Here are some general possibilities of what might happen if a student fails in internal exams at a college:
Remedial measures: The college may offer remedial classes or additional support to help the student improve their understanding of the subject and prepare for a retest.
Reassessment or retest: The student may have the opportunity to retake the internal exams, either during a designated retest period or in the subsequent semester. The exact procedures and conditions for retests would be determined by the college.

Failing in internal exams is not an issue, because overall marks in a particular subject is counted and that overall score must be equal to or above 33 marks out of 100 marks. So, even if anyone fails in internal exams, he/she must try to compensate the extra marks from the external exams and complete a total of 33 marks. But if you want a good CGPA, you need to score much better in your internal exams.

If anyone fails in internal exams nothing happens. You have to pass the external exam's in order to get into next semester. Out of 100 you must score 33 marks overall to get promoted in next semester. Internal marks doesn't matters. It's matter if you have to score good GCPA.
