If a student has a compelling reason—such as a serious illness that requires hospitalisation (with notification to the medical officer) or a tragedy in the family—and is unable to appear for the Cycle Tests I & II or internal examination in any subject (s), he or she must apply right away to the concerned HoDs, along with the necessary documentation and with the proper recommendation from the relevant Head of Department, within one week of the examinations' conclusion. A committee will examine each of these situations, and only those candidates on the approved list will be allowed to retake the exam (Cycle test III).
