If a student fails in exam then he has to appear for re-examination for that particular subject, if you fail to clear it in re-examination, it will be considered as a backlog and have to appear for exams with your juniors for the respective subject.

If a student fails in his internal exam then after sometime re examination occurs in which the student will be given a chance to clear out his backlog subjects if he clears it then he'll be considered as a pass if he does not then he will be considered as sale.
