    The Indian Revenue Service is a group A gazette post, and its officers are recruited through the UPSC CSE exam. The monthly salary of the IRS officers is as follows:
    1. During their training period, IRS officers get a stipend-type salary up to Rs. 35,000 based on deductions.
    2. Later, they get their first posting as an assistant commissioner of income tax, and their salary band is Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 with the grade pay of Rs. 5,400.
    3. Their first promotion is to Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in the same salary band with a grade pay of Rs. 6,600.
