The salary band is raised from Rs. 37,400 to Rs. 67,000, and the grade pay is raised to Rs. 8,700. 6. Later, IRS gets promoted to Commissioner of Income Tax, and the grade pay increases to Rs. 10,000. 7. They may get promoted to the post of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and later Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. The salary range is the same for both posts, at Rs. 75,500 to Rs. 80,000. 8.
