What is a shift course in B.Tech?

Hey Tejasree, Well, we all have this picture of night timings of college as soon as we read shift courses. A lot of us fall prey to this doubt and end up losing our favourite colleges. Shift course is a notion introduced in engineering colleges to increase their intake capacity of students. Each college has a restricted number of student intake for a particular course, according to university norms. Some colleges who did not want to lose out on their young crowd (read fees and extra money), came up with the option of shift course for popular branches in order to expand their intake limit. There is practically no difference between a regular and second shift course in B.E. /B.Tech from any college. Your classes might start from 11am instead of 9am (regular time), but no matter what, it will end before 5pm. That is well within the college timing of 95. In fact your placements will also be open for the same companies. There is absolutely no difference in CSE & CSSC at DSCE. So all the best. Go ahead with your choice of branch even if you get it under 2nd shift since there is no difference in the degree or the college timings. All the best.
