Special Vacant Seats Filling Round, also known as the special round is conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board CSAB to fill the vacant seats at NITs, IIEST, IIITs and other GFTIs (Except IITs) after completion of all the JoSAA Rounds. The purpose of the special round is to fill the remaining vacant seats in the participating institutes. Candidates who are eligible for the special round have to register and fill their choices again. The seat allocation in the special round is based on the candidate's rank and the availability of seats.

All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Madras by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online.
