Aircraft engineers mainly deal with the construction, repair and maintenance of the aircraft in the technical level. Successful candidates after obtaining aircraft maintenance engineering license get ample employment opportunities in government airlines, private airlines, corporate and public/ private aviation organisation. Only an aircraft maintenance engineer can certify that the aircraft is fit for flying.

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), also Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME or L-AME), is a licensed person who carries out and certifies aircraft maintenance. The license is widespread internationally and is recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The American FAA recognizes the qualification in foreign countries but refers to it as Aviation Maintenance Engineer rather than aircraft.
