What is an Aeronautical Science ? What are its career prospects? Which stream should I opt in class 11th?

Aeronautical science is the science of flight and it relates to design and development of aircraft and its related systems. It is not offered as a subject in graduation level. Majority of institutes offer aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering courses after class 12th for science students with PCM subjects. B.Tech in aeronautical engineering prepare students in designing and building aircraft and spacecraft. Aeronautical engineers handle design, manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters and UAV. There are lots of good career opportunities on completion of aeronautical engineering. You can join: 1. DRDO. 2. ISRO. 3. Airlines. 4. Air Force. 5. Educational institutes. 6. R&D units, etc. You have following options to become aeronautical engineer: I. B.Tech in aeronautical engineering after class 12th with PCM. Aeronautical engineering is an interdisciplinary degree. You can do M.Tech in aeronautical engineering after B.Tech in mechanical or electronics. III. You can join Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI). The AeSI is a professional body, devoted to advancement of aeronautical sciences and engineering in India. The AeSI conducts associate membership examination, twice a year. In this, the applicant has to clear minimum 10 level of section - A and 10 level of section - B with training, internship and projects of this examination, which is recognized by the Ministry of Education, at par with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) in aerospace engineering.
