What is an online proctored test at LPU?

Dear Vaibhavi, I can answer you well as my own younger brother gets admitted to LPU in the 2021 admission session. His exam went well. Online Proctored exams are timed exams that he takes while proctoring software monitors his computer's desktop, webcam video, and audio. While he takes the exam, the proctoring software monitors his computer, including software that is running (with help of LPU officials he installed it) and streams the exam data to the proctoring software via the cloud. This exam makes all of us relief from the stress of sending him to any center in offline mode. He successfully completed the exam in this mode and social distancing properly followed by sitting at home only. Thanks to team LPU. Moreover, he told me his LPU NEST exam was totally MCQ type with no negative marking. Syllabus, sample papers, question paper pattern, and other details to prepare for the exam given on the LPU NEST website so from there he prepared. Instructions and guidelines he gets prior to know how to appear for the exam. The syllabus of the LPU NEST exam varies from course to course and the syllabus is based on subjects he studied in his qualification base so as per his course he refers to the syllabus. Note-The scholarship he gets will be applicable throughout his course duration (all semesters). Thanks.

If a student opts to a remotely proctored exam from home, then he will enter the time and date of the exam in interface. The candidate will get an email regarding guidelines, date and time of the exam. The remotely proctored exam will be monitored live through various Artificial Intelligence tools and by the invigilators. Any suspected activity may lead to the cancellation of exam. Candidate must ensure the following for appearing in the exam from home: A working laptop/ desktop with proper webcam and microphones. Proper internet connection An isolated room with proper lighting without any external disturbances. In case, the candidate wants to appear on a mobile phone, the following are the requirements: Smartphone with working front camera and microphone. 3G/ 4G internet connection. An isolated room with proper lighting without any external disturbances. In the exam information step, the candidate has to select a combination of subjects from a given pool of subjects. For example, B.Tech. Aspirants will select one of the options from Maths or Biology apart from the compulsory subjects Physics English and Chemistry. Finally, the candidate will click submit button to complete the process.

As per my experience, the major scholarship that one could get is on the basis of LPU NEST is the National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission in various programs in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of eligibility and scholarship for most of the programs and for some of the programme's test is applicable only for a scholarship. LPU NEST Test centers are now in 28 states, 9 Union Territories and also 200 major cities across the country but due to the rise in the daily cases of Covid-19 in different parts of the country, many state governments have put various restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. Considering the scenario of restricted movement and keeping the focus on the safety of the candidates, LPU has extended the option of the Online Remotely Proctored LPU NEST exam from home. Hi,Due to the rise in the daily cases of Covid-19 in different parts of the country, many state governments have put various restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. Considering the scenario of restricted movement and keeping the focus on the safety of the candidates, LPU is adding an option of Online remotely Proctored LPU NEST exam from home. Various precautions are as following : Do's : Charge the laptop/ smartphone well in advance to last for at least 3 hours. B) Student to be seated using a wall as the background. C) Photograph clicked must of good quality. D) Candidate must have Identity proof ready at the time of test. E) Check the power plugs. F) You should ensure proper internet connectivity is available on your laptop/desktop/ smartphone. Don't : a) Do not try to navigate from the main screen. Doing so will automatically terminate your exam. B) You are not allowed to talk to anyone while your exam is being conducted, as Real Time Monitoring is being done by the Proctor in the university. C) You are not allowed to use any electronic device or other material on the day of the exam. If found, then it will be considered for the cancellation of your exam by the Proctor. D) Do not try to cover your camera or unplug the external camera from the system.

Proctored exams are timed exams that you take while proctoring software monitors your computer's desktop, webcam video and audio. In Proctored Online Exam, you will be under constant observation during the entire duration of the test via artificial intelligence tools and live monitoring by the proctors. Any suspected activity will lead to the immediate termination of exam. The AI tools will be able to detect any movement of face or eyeballs and highlight the same automatically. Thus, the candidate will be under constant vigilance of proctor through live feed to deter any suspicious activity of the candidate. All the best for your future.

Dear Vaibhavi, LPU always consider students as their first priority. LPU has initiated online proctored LPU NEST Exam to support prospective students (candidates) during this period of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Remotely proctored online test allows you to appear for exams from your home location. Artificial Intelligence, Motion sensors and other technologies are used as proctoring tool in addition to an invigilator who virtually monitors the candidate during the examination. In simple terms LPU NEST is conducted through online proctored mode by LPU. LPU NEST is Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test. Though LPU has taken an initiative and has relaxed their eligibility criteria for most of the courses, LPU NEST is exempted. For few courses such as engineering, Ph.D. and Masters in Agriculture this test is mandatory and for rest of the courses, this is just a scholarship test.
