Hi, Lateral entry for B.Tech is provided to the Diploma students, and they can take direct admission in 2nd year for B.Tech course. Hope you got your answer.

When you get admission directly in the second year of a course in any college, it is termed as Lateral Entry. It is for those who do 3 years of diploma (the study of 3 years after 10th), well approved by Govt. norms, they give Lateral Entry entrance exam for admission into engineering colleges.

Tech lateral entry is the direct entry of an applicant into the second year of engineering (third semester), after completing a Diploma in engineering or B.Sc. In Physics or Mathematics. Those who are accepted do not have to study the first year (or first two semesters) of B.Tech.
