Bachelor of Occupational Therapy course is a health related field and duration of this course is 4.5 years. This field believes in holistic approach of treatment and deals with improving functional ability of people with various injuries or disabilities by focusing on task oriented and activity based therapy. Areas in which Occupational Therapists work can be neurological damage, orthopedic injury, pediatric- developmental issues or any other neurological involvement, Autism, Learning disability, geriatric, burns, cumulative trauma disorder, ergonomic, mental health, etc. To name a few. The scope of practice is also well developed in providing splints, assistive and adaptive aids and environmental modification for enhancing accessibility and productivity of people. Further if interested, one may also specialize in Masters of Occupational Therapy in Neurology, Masters of Occupational therapy in Pediatrics, Masters of Occupational Therapy in Musculoskeletal conditions, Masters of Occupational Therapy in Mental Health, and after that there are options of pursuing Ph.D. and Research as well, which is now a days very much in demand.

Hi, Firstly, occupational therapy means treatment of those who are physically, mentally and emotionally disturbed and thus, AIMS to improve their life. Bachelor of occupational therapy trains students to become professional occupational therapists. Science students with PCB group can apply for this course.
